If your still here, you’re probably wondering how and why we are selling $15-$25 tanks and tees for just $1.00?!
So here it is....
In order to acquire a new customer, it cost between $7-$30 in advertising. As a family run 2-3-person business you can imagine we didn’t start this with a huge marketing budget or really any money to begin with. We gave away shirt in the beginning to fitness enthusiast that would promote us on their social networks. This worked so well we realized if we could get our shirts in more people’s hands they would tell their friends and share our brand. Only problem was we could only afford to give away 1 shirt a day that way.
Months went by...
We started reading everything we could about marketing...till we came across clickfunnels. A marketing platform created by Russel Brunson. People were building huge brands giving their products away.
The nuts and bolts...
So, we give away a shirt for $1 the customer covers the shipping which takes care of postage and the cost of fulfilment. (aka our one employee) Now we still are at a loss but with the bonus offers at a 50% take rate we end up breaking even or a net loss of $1-$2 dollars. (this means acquiring new customers for under $2)
Now with a new customer we average 30-40% of them returning for a direct to website purchase in the next 6 weeks. This is where we break even and possibly make a few dollars.
While this is a slow and steady way to grow our customer base.
Our hope to be able to build a sustainable long-term business that will be a cause for good and motivation toward living a healthy fit life.
